I initially charged the power station with the accompanying charger. I didn't mind that it took a few hours to fully charge. They tell you it will. And yes, the charger got fairly warm. I didn't think it was safety-hazard hot. Then I charged a 2in1, an iPad and a smartphone together. It went through without a hitch. Then I used my 65w PD USB-C to bring it back to 100%. I am sold on it for its storage capacity and portability. It's true that it easily picks up fingerprints. Hopefully the next iteration will have a different finish. I wiped it with a shed-free piece of fabric moistened with a light degreaser to remove the smudges so I could sell it to my wife as new. Kidding. It's totally worth it with the discount.
I’ve relied on portable power stations in more situations than I can count over the past 5 years. I love car camping with the family, picnics at the beach, and going on backpacking trips. I’ve also had a need to keep things powered around the house during power outages. (This past winter in California was a rough one!) As you might guess, it’s important to have the right sized station for the job or you end up lugging around batteries that are too heavy and cumbersome or packing a battery that just can’t keep your devices powered long enough.
